Adv Dali Mpofu
Adv Dali Mpofu SC is currently the Chair of the Johannesburg Bar Council and Society of Advocates.
He studied Law at Wits University where he obtained a B.Proc degree and subsequently an LL.B degree.
In 2005 he was appointed CEO of the SABC where he served until 2009.
In 2007 he was appointed by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan to chair the Global Media Aids Initiative (GMAI), an international association of media leaders charged with fighting HIV / AIDS.
In 2014 he attained his Senior Counsel status.
He has served as a member of the Johannesburg Bar intermittently since 1995 to date and became its Chairperson in 2014.
In December 2014 he was elected as the National Chairperson of the Economic Freedom Fighters, South Africa’s third largest political party represented in Parliament.
He is currently a member of the National Forum, a statutory body which serves as the interim council tasked with putting transitional systems in place in preparation for the new regime envisaged in the Legal Practice Act (LPA).
