On the 12 February 2014 ProBono.Org held a Refugee Law Workshop at Bowman Gilfillan offices in Sandton, Johannesburg. The workshop was a success with an attendance of 27 professionals from various different law firms. Kaajal Ramajathan- Keogh, a Refugee Law expert, from Lawyers for Human Rights presented the workshop and provided an in-depth analysis on the legislation, the lived realities of refugees and asylum seekers in South Africa, the legal problems that they face and how attorneys can assist this vulnerable group to exercise their rights.
