Our guest is Cathi Albertyn, Professor in the Wits Law School where she teaches courses on Constitutional Law, Human Rights and Gender and the Law. Prior to joining the School, Cathi was the Director of the Centre for Applied Legal Studies (2001-2007) and headed its Gender Research Programme for ten years (1992 – 2001). She is also editor of the S A Journal on Human Rights.
She will discuss gender issues, in particular the legal protection against discrimination, what discrimination is and the kind of claims that arise from the different acts, namely – Constitution, Employment Equity Act and Equality Act (#PEPUDA).
